Short Summary
Description
Are you looking for a music class that values your families individuality? Are you looking for a music teacher with a gentle and friendly approach but you aren't ready to commit to expensive private lessons? Do you want something flexible, but dependable? There are far too many stories I've heard about adults who quit piano lessons as a child because they hated it, and now they regret it! We focus on creating music experiences that are meaningful, engaging and motivational! Through learning to perform music and read music, you become part of a universal community and a have a new way of connecting to others! If you are brand new to music, we've got you covered! We teach beginners, and then group students by skill level when learning new songs!
MUSIC GYM (Ages 2 years old and up): We set up different stations with keyboards, xylophones, percussion instruments, ukuleles and music activities for you to explore at your leisure. Play when you want to play, walk around when you want to walk around and even create a jam session with other kids at the music gym!
MUSIC MIX (Ages 4-9): Some of you may be ready to join our music mix class, where we sing, dance, play keyboard and percussion instruments with the intention of performing! Come learn to perform music and get better at singing and playing instruments while growing your social skills and making friends in the process!
See our class schedule and class descriptions below! We offer classes for older students as well!

Option 3: Semi Structured for our Young Kiddos.
Our Music Mix classes are for our youngest students who like more movement and switching music activities several times during the hour long class! Students learn a mix of keyboard, percussion instruments, singing and music games! These students often end up in our band, orchestra and percussion classes as they get more inspired to perform on a particular instrument! Practice videos and resources are sent home weekly to help keep students engaged.

F.A.Q
Do I need to rent an instrument? You may or may not need to depending on the class type. Generally, if kids are wanting to practice at home, they will need an instrument at home. We have a small supply of instruments for families to use who need them, and we have plenty of resources to help you find an instrument that matches your budget!
How much are classes? Our classes are $35/hour, which is half the cost of private lessons. If you want to be in the performance groups, we need a commitment for several months in order to plan our concerts. The cost is usually about $112/month. For kids who want to take multiple classes, we offer a unlimited class pass for $199/month! You can also choose to do pop in classes for $39/class. We do accept charter funds from TLC, Julian Charter, Excel Academy, Pacific Coast Academy and Sparrow Academy. We can apply to others if you want us to!
We do also offer private lessons at standard rates. You can choose between 30 minute/$45, 45 minutes/$65 or 60 minutes/$85. Ask us which amount of time we recommend for your child's skill level and age.
Financial Assistance: Lastly, we do offer limited financial assistance upon request, and create family rates if needed.
How do I choose an instrument? Reach out to us to attend an instrument sampling, which will schedule a couple times per year. You can also just come to our music gym and let us know ahead of time that you'd like to sample some instruments with the purpose of choosing one to study.
Neurodivergency Specializations and Accommodations
We have worked with a large number of neurodivergent students, and many have become our best musicians! We talk to families to find out what accommodations may be needed and do whatever we can to make students comfortable and learning. Examples of accommodations:
- Wearing ear plugs for sound sensitivity
- Creating special music parts that are more difficult or easier, depending on what students need. We differentiate levels in the same class by providing students with music that fits their goals.
- We encourage students to become better musicians, but do not have any strict practicing rules. We accept students at whatever their current interest level is, and give them meaningful opportunities to inspire them to continue growing musically.
- Allowing extra movement, or standing instead of sitting
- The open structure of our music gym
- Printing larger music
- Special seating arrangements
- Buddy help
- Flexibility in class
- Relationship building activities
- Encouragement and patience with perfectionism
