Short Summary
Description
Need to improve your self-esteem or gratitude? What about patience or coping skills? Want to lessen your anger and stress? Who is the real you?
It is sometimes hard to talk about these subjects and even harder to make a change in these topics. I am a licensed clinical social worker who loves working with teens and adults to find out how to deal with life and these issues. I also like to make learning fun. In each class a different topic will be covered but additionally we will play a game to help reinforce the topic.
The learner will be looking at their positive qualities, how to be more grateful, focus on the positive, and become aware of possible coping skills, anger management strategies along with breathing and mindfulness skills to improve their patience or lessen their stress.
Getting to Know You: What is in a name? What are your likes and dislikes? How would you highlight yourself to others?
Self Exploration: What are your values and personal beliefs? Your life goals are and how have they changed? What have you mastered in your life or what areas of your life do you feel are out of control?
Anger: What are some self statements to help you think when you are angry? Do you have safe ways of getting angry?
Self Esteem: Let's learn some positive affirmations and positive focus which can be boosters for ones self esteem.
Stress: Let's learn some ways to reduce stress such as progressive muscle relaxation, sensory awareness, etc.
Patience: What is your peaceful place? How does breathing help?
Gratitude: Change your GrrrrrAttitude to Gratitude
Coping: Let's talk about some healthy coping skills and come up with some positive coping skills that your learner has not thought of yet.
Support/Community/Socialization: Who's in your inner circle? Do you appreciate those who support you?
Me and Others: Family time, "me" time, and presents
Note that learner will need paper, pencil, five 6-sided dice, deck of playing cards, and a roll of toilet paper.
