Description

In this Second Grade Reading course students learn the skills needed to be effective readers and writers, as well as listening and speaking skills. Areas addressed in include decoding, phonemic awareness, vocabulary and comprehension skills in reading; writing and composition skills; spelling; grammar and mechanics; and study skills. <br>The goals of the reading program is to instill a love of reading within all students by introducing engaging texts and authors. Helping students discover the different purposes for reading by exploring sub genres, using worksheets, hands-on projects and art. State standards are adhered to in this course, and noted on the unit overlooks.
