Description
This is the all-content upfront combination option of both of my Academic Infused Minecraft Activities 1 & 2 self-paced courses. This self-paced course provides ALL of the content of 1 & 2 upon enrollment, provides 1 week of educator/learner interaction to help answer any navigating and getting started questions, and provides 1-year course content access.
This course contains a large variety of content from 30 lessons and 8 engaging Minecraft themed books read aloud for early readers along with a book review option, to my personally created Minecraft video tutorials with EPIC creative challenges for learners within Minecraft, and even many off-screen Minecraft themed writing prompts, Math and art printable activity pages, and problem-solving mazes and Sudoku puzzles that I have created in homeschooling my own Minecrafter and for our class.
Learners do not need to be able to read independently, or have copies of the books used, to actively participate in this self-paced course. My courses are interactive, engaging, empowering, and affirming. I am responsive to questions and posts. The only supplies needed are Minecraft Bedrock or Education Edition and an interest in our course topic. I also include printing optional themed activity pages. This is a self-paced, flexible schedule, course with no live meetings and extended time is provided by accessing my content through learner transcripts.
My high-interest self-paced courses have *no live meetings* to affirm learners to participate in a way that works best for their schedules and strengths, eliminating the stress of rigid schedule times and deadlines of live meetings. My courses are inclusive to multiple learning styles and learner needs, potentially fostering greater engagement. Learners can pause, skip around, and rewatch my Minecraft video tutorials as they wish as well as choosing the tutorials that inspire their interests the most.
Neurodivergency Specializations and Accommodations
As a neurodivergent person myself, I design my fun and educational Minecraft courses to be affirming and inclusive for all learners including neurodivergent learners. I present all content by audio description and model each step visually as well. My courses are created to be high-interest and inclusive for autistic, 2e, gifted, ADHD, anxious, PDA, and other neurodivergent learners who benefit from content being presented auditorily and demonstrated visually, broken down from start to finish with clear step-by-step tasks and with much freedom for learners to follow their own interests and make their Minecraft audio sound decisions and artistic choices. Learners have choices on which lessons to follow and which features to include in their creations.
For all learners, including learners with dyslexia, dyscalculia, or dysgraphia, please know that any writing, mathematics, or maze problem-solving tasks that are included as a bonus in my courses are completely optional. Using any of the Minecraft commands I present as an advanced option are optional, and Minecraft command text is spelled verbally and shown visually as well. Learners are able to choose whether to follow my lessons visually, auditorily, or both, and to pause my recorded content and review the lesson as many times as they wish. Learners have a full year of content access, without time pressure or deadline demands. I am very open to communication and happy to help with any questions and in supporting your learner in accesses my content. Each learner enrolled in any of my asynchronous and self-paced courses are in a private, one on one classroom.
I also have a Master of Science degree in Education Curriculum and Instruction, have over 20 years teaching experience, hold multiple active academic teaching certifications, and am a homeschooling parent of my own neurodivergent child. My courses are also homeschooling friendly.
