Description
Get ready to investigate how different colors of plant foods help keep your body healthy. At the weekly detective meeting you will discuss foods of different colors and learn fun facts about plant foods. During the week, you will get to try different foods of different colors and fill out an investigation log so you could describe that food to someone who has never had it before. For example, if you eat carrots...do you eat them cooked or raw? Are they crunchy or soft? What do they taste like? In the detective meeting, you will get credit for each investigation log you fill out...and get to fill in a space on your BINGO card for each food...can you eat 24 different plant foods and get a rainbow out?
NOTE: parents will be responsible for providing a variety of plant foods for the food detective to investigate. Of course, if your child has any food allergies, do not include those foods. When possible, offer the food on its own so that it can be experienced separately from other foods to make it easier to investigate.
