Description

Did you enjoy the previous classes?  Shall we study how to count in Korean?  Get on this class!  In this 4 week class, we're going to study the number system, how to count things in a proper way, how to tell dates and time in Korean, and practice it with a native Korean teacher.  You'll be able to have conversations such as "What time is it?  It's 8:20." or "When is your birthday?  My birthday is June 10th." in Korean after this class.

Here's the plan for what we're going to study each week!

Week 1 : 하나, 둘, 셋 - Two different number systems!  We're going to see how to express numbers in Korean and learn how to count.  We're going to practice with those and say how old we are to each other.

Week 2 : 한 명, 두 명 - Ideas of units in Korean.  We're going to study various units and make sentences with grammar we studied in the previous classes.

Week 3 : 유월 십일 - How to express dates?  Let's ask "when is your birthday?" and answer.  We're going to learn more expressions such as "yesterday" or "today," and make sentences with new vocabulary.

Week 4 : 여섯 시 오 분 - How to express time?  Let's ask :what time is it?" and answer.  Let's learn more expressions such as "a minute ago" and practice making sentences with those.  We're going to organize what we learned to memorize easier and practice with those.  Congratulations, you're half way done with this beginner Korean series!

We're going to work with slides I make.  We're going to practice reading, listening, speaking, and writing with the expressions we studied in the class.  Learners will ask questions to each other and answer those.  There will be next level of following beginner classes as a series, and I offer more advanced classes and practice classes as well, so please take following classes if you're interested!  I'm looking forward to see you guys in the class :)

This class requires basic understanding of the Korean characters Hangul.  You don't have to be perfect in reading Hangul since I'm going to help you when you need, but you'll need basic understanding of the character system.  I recommend to take this class after taking "Learn to Read and Write Korean Characters Hangul," "Beginner Korean 1," and "Beginner Korean 2" I offer, but it's not necessary if you check what we studied in those classes and you think you already know it.  Feel free to join and let's have a fun time!

I offer total 5 Beginner Korean classes and this class is the third of the five part series.  If you follow this 5 part set of 4 week class, you'll be able to have basic conversations in Korean.  I offer intermediate level Korean classes as well, so please take the intermediate level classes if you want to study more!

I'm a native Korean speaker who lived in Korea for 28 years and majored in biology.  I'm fluent in Korean and English both.  I got perfect score in Korean language, math and science sections in the Korean SAT.  I have experience working in college press and thesis correction in Korea.  I have taught Korean language to Korean students for college entrance exams and non-native students for more than 7 years.
