This class is great for beginning programmers and also has extension ideas for learners who are familiar with Scratch and other block-based coding platforms.
Class 1 - Introduction and Discovery
Learn how to access Scratch by having a parent help create an account or by downloading Scratch 3.0 on your computer, with a guardian's permission.
Learn about blocks and block-based coding.
Class 2 - Your First Musical Program
Learn to use Sprites, blocks, and backgrounds
Use loops and inputs to create an interactive dance party.
Class 3 - DJ Mixer
Explore loops and variables to create your own beats!
Count musical rhythms and explore timing.
Class 4 - Music Video
Animate a music video to match the mood of your songs.
Class 5 - Dance Party
Create custom sound effects for games or add effects to your music video.
Class 6 - Interactive Instruments
Code an interactive instrument using inputs and real musical notes.
Class 7 - Sight Reading Game
Learn about musical notation and sight reading while coding an interactive flash card game or animation.
Class 8 - Compose a Song

Materials
Students will be using a computer and can choose from Scratch Online (make an account with parent permission) or Scratch 3.0, which does not require an account.
