Over 17 weeks in this systematic phonics course, learners will review the alphabet with a chant, practice letter recognition, and learn the short vowel sounds, consonant sounds, writing, and blending to begin reading. High-frequency words are taught and practiced in place of sight words.

Interactive activities and bright visuals will keep students involved with their learning as we spin the ABC wheel, say the letters, practice writing, and play games to reinforce the lesson material. Guided group participation ensures an action-packed 25-minute learning session each week with minimal downtime.

To encourage involvement, students will shout out letters, interact with vowels, peers, and the teacher, make sounds, and join in hand gestures for a memorable learning experience. Whether attending all sessions or dropping in and out, learners can strengthen specific phonics sounds without prerequisites.

Week 5: D, G, high-frequency word "the"
Week 6: Review of short vowels, letters S, L, T, B, M, R, F, D, G, and high-frequency words "a" and "the"
Week 7: C, N
Week 8: H, Y
Week 9:  J, W
Week 10: K and compound word reading
Week 11: Review of short vowels, letters C, N, H, Y, J, W, K, and compound words
Week 12: X, Q
Week 13: Z, P
Week 14: V and word challenge
Week 15: Long Vowels
Week 16: Short Vowels vs Long Vowels
Week 17: Review of X, Q, Z, P, V, long and short vowels
