Description
This 8th grade science course is designed for eighth-grade students and spans an entire academic year. It aims to build on the knowledge and skills acquired in previous science courses by providing explanations of physical science concepts. Using scientific processes, protocols, and tools, including inquiry, students will explore structures, patterns, and relationships explained through physical sciences. Emphasis will be placed on critical thinking, collaboration, accuracy, and communication skills to help students refine their scientific literacy. The course is mandatory for all eighth-grade students and includes instructional practices that integrate diversity awareness and appreciation for cultural contributions to our society. The appropriate use of technology is also a vital component of the course. Upon completion, students will have fulfilled their eighth-grade science requirement. (semester 2 of 2)
