Availability

This class is available for enrollment 365 days a year and students can start immediately. The student and parent portals are open 7 days a week for homework submissions. The teacher normally responds to student submissions within 24 hours. 

This course is hosted on the Reading Success Academy Learning Platform.

Description

  • This is a subscription class, paid weekly. 
  • This vocabulary course was designed for upper elementary and early middle school students struggling with reading comprehension, vocabulary, and spelling. 
  • Each week a new list of fifteen words is assigned.
  • Two videos are released each week.
  • Each video is around 20 minutes in length.
  • A materials packet is provided in PDF format.
  • The materials packet includes at least 4 worksheet activities, a word list with definitions, and answer keys.
  • The class is supplemented by online digital activities on Quizlet and Word Wall. These activities are customized to each weekly list. 
  • There are 20 weeks of content in this course, with each weekly unit containing a customized materials packet, two videos, and two digital activities.
  • Teacher feedback is included in this self-paced course.
  • Students may submit their homework for feedback from the teacher within 24 hours. 
  • Students are supported throughout the course through the use of Reading Success Academy's Online Student Portal or email.
  • Parents are supported throughout the course in the Reading Success Academy Online Parent Portal.

The Phono-Graphix method, used in this class, serves students with Dyslexia by encouraging multi-sensory practice and focusing on phonemic awareness.
