Blue Mountain Academy Tutoring was founded in response to a critical issue in our education system: children are being pushed through without fully grasping essential skills, with the expectation that they will "get it eventually." This approach often leads to illiterate teenagers, frustrated students, and high dropout rates. I believe that strong foundations in reading, writing, and math are crucial for success in every area of life.

As someone who struggled in school myself, I deeply value the one-on-one and small-group sessions I had with a coach in my elementary years. My learning style didn’t fit the traditional mold, and those personalized experiences were key to my success.

At Blue Mountain Academy Tutoring, I prioritize discovering each student's unique learning style. I then create an individualized program tailored to their strengths and needs. My teaching methods include learning activities in the form of games, focused repetition, and music. Currently, I teach Kindergarten Readiness through Grade 3, as well as basic English as a Second Language (ESL) for all ages.

To help students reach their goals, I employ Phonemic Awareness (PA), Synthetic Phonics (CVC), Adapted Montessori techniques, and play-based learning. Progress is carefully tracked through assessments, ensuring every student is on the path to success.
