Hello!  

I am very excited to work with you on developing an understanding of how to explore the world of work and the pathways to get there. This course will provide guided instruction on how to explore how YOUR interests and skills match up to what is going to be available and realistic as a plan to become an independent and responsible adult, whether that means attending a formal educational program after high school or being a creative entrepreneur! For example...do you know how your personality type will impact how satisfied you are in your career? Do you know which careers will be replaced in the next 5 years by AI? Do you know how to integrate your personal passions with doing something that makes enough money to live on?

Together, we'll discuss how to prepare for not just "either" but pretty much ALL the pathways and opportunities that are available to today's learners. This is an adventure course! It's about YOU...not a lot of facts and figures that are the focus of a lot of other courses. There are two avenues to take in this course - credit based or as an exploration course. You'll decide a long the way which one you want to make it based on how much work you put into it. If you earn credit, it will be .25 high school level elective credits that will be issued in a certificate emailed to you once you complete the course requirements.

Although this course is asynchronous, I'll be holding weekly office hours for personalized assistance with course related content.

I'll be using Google Classroom to keep you informed, upload documents and links and keep records of progress. I will provide 8 weeks to complete the work but will provide extensions if requested by the deadline posted at the beginning of class.
