This course is designed for students who are behind grade-level, struggling to keep pace in class, or simply want extra support in their math classes. This is a good fit for homeschool, public school, and private school students. All of the classes are booked through my website, found at https://mathamigo.one/book-class/. 

Math topics build on each other, and doing math well requires having a solid foundation from the beginning. When students have a deep understanding of the math basics, they can more easily analyze and expand their knowledge into more advanced topics. If these fundamentals are not solidified, new information can be essentially impossible to comprehend!

Some students fall behind because of poor instruction. Others need more time to process the information or more opportunities to practice. No matter what the reason, tutoring will help to straighten out the math “tangles” your student is experiencing so they can better understand new and challenging material. 

OUR CLASS SETUP: My best classes begin with a parent consultation, which you can book for free before signing up for classes by clicking here. This is critical in customizing classes to best suit the student. I learn about the student’s interests, learning style, strengths and weaknesses. I host all classes using Zoom Meetings and we utilize the whiteboard feature to complete our work. In our 30 minute classes, we start out with a question of the day to build rapport,  have mental math fact practice, and then work on challenging material using the gradual release model (I do/we do/ you do) with continual feedback.  

After our consultation, parents can book classes here on my website. You will select teacher Jana Murrey and then choose the class "Elementary Math Tutoring" for 25 minutes or "1 Hour Elementary Math Tutoring".  

DIFFERENTIATED LEARNING: Each and every class is differentiated! Based on the parent consultation, I can customize the class to better-suit neurodivergent students. Please let me know if your child already has successful accommodations. Some of the things we can add are color coding, pre-teaching vocabulary, visual aids, graphic organizers, and more frequent check-ins. The sky is the limit and it just depends on what each learner needs!
