Algebra II Class Information
See our full course description and additional information such as required supplies on our website.
This online Algebra II course covers a range of topics, including linear, quadratic, polynomial, exponential, logarithmic, rational, and radical functions, as well as complex numbers, rational exponents, probability, data analysis, an introduction to statistics, sequences and series, matrices, and a brief overview of trigonometric concepts.
Students will master the step-by-step methods of Algebra II while also tackling real-world math problems that require reasoning and logical thinking. This rigorous course is designed to prepare students for advanced mathematics and science courses that rely on Algebra II concepts. Those interested in AP exams will build a strong mathematical foundation that supports further studies leading to AP Calculus and related exams.
All Excelsior math instructors will use the Big Ideas Math curriculum by Ron Larson, Ph.D., and Laurie Boswell, Ed.D., which is designed to equip students for higher-level and college mathematics. Students will have access to a digital platform with various tools to enhance their learning experience, including instant feedback on homework. Please note that the materials used in Excelsior math classes are not aligned with Common Core standards.
Parents and students can expect weekly homework assignments, chapter quizzes, tests, a midterm, and a final exam.
