Discover the art of architectural design in this engaging semester-long course! Students will delve into architectural design thinking and representation through a combination of freehand and technical drawing exercises. Emphasis will be placed on mastering the translation between 2D and 3D visualizations and understanding the fundamental orthographic views—plan, elevation, and section.
Throughout the course, students will explore various architects and architectural works to gain broader insights into the field. Weekly assignments will include sketchbook or drafting tasks and required readings, with a quiz assessing reading completion each week. The semester will feature three major projects, culminating in a final design project where students will create and present architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, and sections.
