Over 15 weeks, this course will guide you through the journey of Christianity from its origins in the early days of the Church, as described in Acts, to its complex modern expressions. Explore the rich historical backdrop of the New Testament, including the growth of the early Christian community, the development of Christian doctrine, and the influence of pivotal historical events on the faith.
Trace the evolution of Christian thought and theology through the Byzantine Empire, the medieval Church, the Reformation, and the Enlightenment. Examine the modern Church’s responses to social issues, its global expansion, and contemporary movements. This course offers an in-depth exploration of Christianity’s historical development and its ongoing relevance today.
