Building on the concepts and techniques introduced in Filmmaking 1, this course delves into more advanced topics, with a focus on narrative filmmaking. The class will be highly interactive, allowing students to develop their own projects and collaborate with peers for feedback and review. Throughout the course, students will complete their own short narrative film while gaining hands-on experience in the following areas: (1) story and script development; (2) script breakdown and scheduling; (3) working with actors; (4) camera techniques; (5) production audio techniques, including sync and double-system sound; (6) lighting techniques for both interior and exterior scenes; (7) narrative film editing; and (8) post-production finishing and distribution for DVD and the web.
