Description
Let's travel around the world learning how to draw animals!
Your elementary aged kids will learn the basics of drawing through directed drawing-style art lessons.
I'll be teaching them step-by-step what to do, including fundamentals like:
? the elements of art
?️ the principles of art
? coloring/rendering tips
I love the self-paced style of this art class because it offers your learners the freedom to not only choose which art project they would like to do, but also to choose the pace they complete it at. Rushed art is stressful art, and stressful art doesn't become a lifelong skill. I think teaching the basics of drawing in a self-paced setting is the perfect way to introduce an art skill like this without that rush and stress.
The best way to make the most of this class is to complete 2 lessons a week. That way, the drawing skills will stay fresh and relevant to your learners.
REMEMBER: As your child is drawing, there can be frustrating moments where they'll need to problem-solve. That's a good thing! One of the keys to learning how to draw is to learn how to observe. That means your learner will be prompted by me to look at their artwork, look at the example in the video, and make changes as they see fit.
Keep encouraging them with phrases like, "Use your artist's eye to spot the differences." and "Your eraser is your best friend." and "You are trying your best." Once your child has finished their artwork, you can ask them, "What do you like best about your art?"
I can't wait to see what your kids create!
