Description
A 5 week digital art study: Cezanne's skewed perspectives and his use of "Cezanne Blue" lead to a meaningful study. Grab your digital tablet and let's discover the Masters together!
**This class assumes an understanding of whatever digital app your student works in! I will not be teaching the apps in this class, rather USING the apps to explore art history through the various mediums and methods they provide** if your student needs to learn how to use Procreate, please see my Intro series before enrolling in the "Meet The Masters" classes!
We will explore:
- Art History - Introduce students to Hundertwasser through biography worksheets.
- Art Analysis - Have students analyze Hundertwasser's art and understand the importance art plays in shaping a voice for our culture.
- Production - Have students create weekly inspired work by using what they have learned in this class and making it their own, encouraging their own artistic voice..
Through the five weeks of our study of Cezanne we will:
- Week 1- Cezanne used color in an expressive way, which means that he chose colors that made the viewer feel like they were in the same place, seeing the same thing that he was. We will experiment with color choices through "The Bay of Marseille" Homework: "Two Apples on a Table".
- Week 2- Cezanne reduced natural objects into simplified forms. using the grid method we will replicate "Still Life With Apples" apples using this method. Homework: "Annency Lake".
- Week 3- Blending with Oil Pastels (found in Procreate and Ibispaint) while exploring Analogous, complementary, triadic color schemes. Homework: Compare and contrast "Still Life With Apples" and "Mount Sainte-Victoire"
- Week 4- Abstracted landscapes thumbnails Homework: Complete landscape thumbnails
- Week 5- Create final project: Abstracted Landscape using digital acrylic, pastel or oil paint
