Class Description: Mixed Media Art Journaling
Class Experience: Dive into the vibrant world of mixed media art journaling in our comprehensive 6-week course designed for learners aged 8 and up. This class invites students to explore and combine various artistic techniques to create unique personal art journals. Each session is structured to gradually build on skills learned from the previous week, ensuring a cohesive learning experience that fosters both technical skills and creative expression.
What Will Be Taught & Topics Covered:
- Week 1: Introduction to Mixed Media - Basics of gesso application, texturing with wax paper and bubble wrap.
- Week 2: Layering Techniques - Incorporating found objects and recycled materials to create depth and interest.
- Week 3: Composition and Imagery - Techniques in image transfer and effective compositional layouts.
- Week 4: Advanced Color Application - Understanding and applying color theory to convey different moods and narratives.
- Week 5: Adding Personal Elements - Personalization of pages with intricate details like doodling, lettering, and the use of personal memorabilia.
- Week 6: Final Presentation and Reflection - Reviewing and refining work, group critique, and reflection on personal growth through art.
