Description
Looking to:
- Give your learner a semester's worth of valuable exposure to introductory Spanish sounds, questions, sentences, and songs on your own schedule?
- Reduce "Zoom fatigue" through multiple modes of learning on and offline: educational videos, audio, writing, movement, flashcards, and coloring pages?
- Help "hook" your learner to the magic of Spanish in an engaging and comfortable format (especially ideal for shy learners, students apprehensive to speak in live classes, etc.)?
In this semester-long beginner Spanish flex class, your learner will Spanish sounds, vocabulary, conversations, songs and more!
NOTE: This class has NO live virtual meetings and follows an asyncronous "flex format", allowing learners to work through the material at their own pace!
Course Outline:
Week 1: "My name is ____.", "Nice to meet you", the vowel sounds "A, E, I, O, U" (enrichment: a sample vocabulary word for each vowel)
Week 2: "hello", "goodbye", "cat", "monkey", "1, 2, 3" (enrichment: His/her/its name is ______.)
Week 3: "good morning", "good afternoon", "good evening", "I will sleep" (enrichment: the Colombian flag colors)
Week 4: "bear", "how are you?", "(I’m) well, and you?"
Week 5: "I like... / I don't like..." with fruit vocabulary, "What do you like?"
Week 6: "I want.../ I don't want...'." with animal vocabulary, "What do you want?"
Week 7: "My favorite color is _____." with color vocabulary, "What is your favorite color?"
Week 8: Extra material and student project
Week 9: Vocabulary - "house", "apartment", "bedroom", "bed", "window", "door""What do you have in your bedroom?", "I have a ______ in my bedroom.", ''I live in a house/an apartment."
Week 10: "bathroom", "toilet", "sink", "shower""What do you see in your bathroom?", "I see a ______ in my bathroom."
Week 11: "kitchen", "refrigerator", "oven", "table", "chairs""What's in your kitchen?", "A(n) _________ is/are in my kitchen."
Week 12: Extra furniture and student project
Each week, learners will receive:
1. 2-3 videos: Engaging educational video(s) of me teaching the week's content and song (with props and digital effects) that encourages students to repeat and participate
2. Printable Flashcards: While learners should act out the movements they see on screen while the songs are playing, the flashcards can be used to help them review and practice at home!
3. 2 Coloring Pages/Worksheets: Learners can listen to the lesson video/song and practice repeating and singing while they complete the worksheets
4. A "cheat sheet" of all the week's content in a virtual "classroom"
