Spanish 1 is a high school-level introductory Spanish course. Students will learn Spanish grammar through conversational practice, video clips, and music. Cultural aspects of Spanish-speaking countries will also be discussed.

Coursework includes:

• Video instruction lessons
• Online games and exercises
• Vocabulary and grammar quizzes
• Regular 1-hour online discussion sessions with classmates and instructor (webcam required - time based on students' availability)

The class is divided into two 16-week semesters. To immerse themselves in the language, students must complete projects such as:

• Reading children's books in Spanish
• Watching Spanish movies
• Taking a Latin dance lesson
• Creating a Spanish comic strip

An honors option is available for this Spanish 1 course.
