Description
As children begin to read more fluently, comprehension and vocabulary building become an increasingly important goal. This class is intended to help with oral reading fluency and comprehension. Writing becomes a more important goal as well. This class will dedicate one day per week to spelling practice and one day to writing practice.
CLASS EXPERIENCE:
Join me for a fun, five day a week reading class using phonics to help your child progress in reading
This class is the perfect fit for any child who knows basic reading skills but needs frequent practice.
TYPICAL CLASS ROUTINE:
Greeting/Get to know you time
Phonics review
Story reading, fluency practice or spelling or writing practice
Closing/sometimes puppet time
POSSIBLE READING CONCEPTS:
Phonics sound introduction and discussion
Learning to read with fluency
Attention to punctuation and reading expression
Building vocabulary and reading comprehension
