Description

In this Waldorf-inspired book study class, we will delve into this amazing story inspired by Chinese folktales that the author, Grace Lin, heard in her childhood.

In each class we will light a candle and read the story together (teacher reading) and then write vocabulary, work on discussion questions/comprehension to process the story deeper, draw pictures based on the part of the story we read, and/or complete fun activities.

I was the school teaching librarian for six years at a Waldorf school and led many book discussions and Reading Olympics teams.  My teaching style is one of inviting students to love the books that they are reading and to truly immerse themselves in the characters and story.  I allow processing time through drawing and simple questions that ask readers to go a bit deeper.

Message me with any questions or day/time requests!
