Jamie Gajewski

Hi! My name is Miss Jamie and I'm an American-Australian dance instructor and US certified K-12 educator living in beautiful Australia. I have 15 years of dance teaching experience in 6 dance studios, schools, summer camps, and of course online! I've taught over 1,000 children how to dance online since 2020. I can't wait to share my passion for dance and imaginative storytelling with your child!

Class offerings:

I offer weekly Fairytale Beginner Ballet classes with over 20 different fairytales and magical themes which are a mix of ballet foundations and interactive storytelling. This class teaches important ballet foundational movements like plies, jumps, footwork, balances and turns along with dance games related to the week's theme. Your child will improve their coordination, grace and strength all while using their imagination and having a lot of fun! There's always time for show and tell at the end of the class. Each child has the opportunity to share their favorite dance moves during class to get a special moment in the spotlight.

Additionally, I offer "Ballet with Miss Jamie" which is weekly classical ballet for ages 4-8. Dancers will learn ballet foundations that they can build upon as well as a love of dance through creative expression and dance games. We start each lesson with a ballet warmup and stretching, progress to the center and movements across the floor and finish with a dance game and/or a dance combination, curtsies and sharing. Dancers also have the opportunity during this class to share their favorite dance moves one at a time each week.

Teaching philosophy:

As a dance instructor, I believe that every child can benefit from dancing. It's great for developing gross motor skills, appreciating music, and building confidence. It's also a lot of fun! My love for dance began at age 2 and I hope to inspire a love of movement in your child. I love helping young learners improve their confidence and skills. 

Patience is my #1 value and I use different strategies to help every learner grow. I believe everyone can benefit from dance and movement, so my classes are inclusive. If your learner needs any special accomodations, please send me a message before class.
