This lesson addresses a fundamental aspect of human relationships: trust. Students often desire trust but don't always comprehend how their actions influence their trustworthiness. This lesson aims to provoke thought on how they can develop trust with others and consider the rewards of demonstrating trustworthiness.
Students will reflect on Roger's journey throughout the story, contemplating both his untrustworthy actions and his efforts to regain Mrs. Jones' trust. Through discussion and analysis, they'll explore the nuances of trust-building and the potential outcomes of their actions. By examining Roger's experiences, students can gain insights into the importance of integrity and reliability in interpersonal interactions.
