Bold and Bright Academy Online

Bethany Johnson, born and raised on the East Coast, earned a BFA in Dance and spent a decade teaching and performing professionally. Her journey took a significant turn when she relocated to Las Vegas, transitioning from dance to elementary education, driven by a desire to impact young lives through education. However, she soon recognized systemic flaws in the classroom—outdated curricula and teaching methods that stifled children's natural curiosity and self-esteem. After four years, she left the school system to pursue a vision of fostering a more nurturing educational environment.

In pursuit of this vision, she founded Bold and Bright Academy, a preschool operated from her garage for children aged 3-5. This initiative was grounded in a play-based, developmentally appropriate approach, allowing her to make a meaningful difference in her students' early educational experiences. Her commitment to expanding her impact while maintaining personalized learning environments led to the launch of Bold and Bright Academy Online. This platform offers hundreds of on-demand classes for children aged 2-10, taught by a team of 16 educators. It includes interactive resources such as printable curricula, educational games, parent support, and live socialization opportunities through Zoom classes.

Her innovative approach to early childhood education was recognized when she received Nevada’s 2023 Early Childhood Educator of the Year award and was nominated for America’s Favorite Teacher. Her recent participation as a contestant on "The Blox," a major reality show for entrepreneurs, highlights her ongoing commitment to redefining educational paradigms. Her teaching philosophy centers on the belief that all children can learn with the right tools, accommodations, and support, fostering a classroom environment where resilience and kindness are key values. Through Bold and Bright Academy, she is dedicated to changing the educational landscape by encouraging creativity, emotional intelligence, and a lifelong love of learning in our youngest minds.

Miss Bethany brings extensive experience in teaching students with special needs. As a neurodivergent individual herself, she is dedicated to creating inclusive and adaptable learning environments. Our On-Demand classes enable students to learn at their own pace, while our live Zoom sessions are designed to be relaxed and accommodating. Students are welcome to bring snacks, engage in fidget activities, and take breaks as needed. Miss Bethany incorporates frequent movement breaks and encourages student interaction at their comfort level for each session.
