Neurodivergency Specializations and Accommodations
This class is intentionally designed to support diverse learning needs, including ADHD, Dyslexia, and ASD. In this live, ongoing AP Human Geography study group, I incorporate teaching strategies that make content accessible, engaging, and manageable for all students.
Flexible Pacing – I provide structured yet flexible lessons, breaking down complex topics into smaller, manageable segments to help students focus and process information effectively.
Multisensory Learning – Lessons are visually enriched with diagrams, maps, and interactive activities that support different learning styles, especially helpful for students with Dyslexia or visual learners.
Clear Structure & Routine – Each session follows a predictable structure, helping students feel comfortable with class flow and expectations. I provide clear transitions, so students with ADHD and ASD can stay engaged without feeling overwhelmed.
Interactive Participation – Opportunities for discussion and collaboration foster social engagement, benefiting students with ASD. I also encourage students to share insights or questions at their own pace, respecting individual needs.
Extra Support & Follow-Up – I offer follow-up resources and am available for questions to help students with unique needs fully grasp the material and build confidence.
This supportive environment allows students to progress at their own pace and helps them feel more empowered and connected to the subject matter.
