Description
Arithmetic and Applications is designed to be an onramp into junior high mathematics, reinforcing and extending elementary math skills. Learners will calculate with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percents, and negative numbers. They will also use logical, geometric, and statistical reasoning, and solve simple algebraic equations. All these skills will be applied to problem solving.
Learners will study these topics, through the year:
Problem Solving and Graphs
Basic logic problems
Problem solving strategies
Review of whole number place value and calculations
Scatter plots
Coordinate graphing in quadrant 1
Decimal Calculations and Angles
Decimal place value
