About the class:

This math class is designed to empower students with a comprehensive understanding of fundamental fraction concepts. It offers an opportunity for students to refresh their knowledge or delve into the world of working with fractions. Through engaging discussions, modeling, and practice, students will build confidence in their skills. Successful participation requires a strong grasp of addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication facts. Homework, in the form of practice worksheets and/or online skills practice, serves as a tool for growth and should take just 30 minutes per week. Upon completion, students can progress to part 2, where they will explore more advanced fraction concepts.

Class Format:

Our weekly live class meetings will be held via Zoom. Students will access their lessons, print worksheets, submit assignments, join discussions, and view their feedback through our classroom platform, Canvas.

I strive to keep our class sizes small so we will have between 4-6 learners in class. This is a good number for student interaction:)

Course Breakdown:

(Progress through these lessons will vary by class depending on student ability as some concepts may need additional time and some may need less time. It is important to note that the focus here is exposure not mastery as it will take more than one meeting a week to master some of the concepts we will be covering.
