Description
A 6 week digital art course where we will explore the wonders of Vincent Van Gogh, while painting and creating with our tablets/ Ipad or Chromebook. Put those digital skills to new uses as you learn about The Masters!Digital Twist" we will harness that curiosity and passion and use it to interact with the great masters of art history.
**This class assumes an understanding of whatever digital app your student works in! I will not be teaching the apps in this class, rather USING the apps to explore art history through the various mediums and methods they provide** if your student needs to learn how to use Procreate, please see my Intro series before enrolling in the "Meet The Masters" classes!
We will explore:
- Art History - Introduce students to Hundertwasser through biography worksheets.
- Art Analysis - Have students analyze Hundertwasser's art and understand the importance art plays in shaping a voice for our culture.
- Production - Have students create weekly inspired work by using what they have learned in this class and making it their own, encouraging their own artistic voice..
Through the six weeks of our study of Van Gogh we will evaluate post-impressionism, cover one and two point perspective, and the use of color to change the mood and tone of painting.
6 week overview:
- Week 1- Van Gogh used thick paint and disjointed lines to create the feeling of motion in his artwork. We will start our exploration by looking at "Starry Night". Homework: "Irises".
- Week 2- One point perspective Homework: Student practice and drawings.
- Week 3-"Bedroom" with one point perspective. Homework: Finish classwork
- Week 4- The use of color to convey emotion and mood. Homework: Student drawings and worksheet that compares and contrasts Van Gogh's works.
- Week 5- 2 point perspective Homework: Using two point perspective to write name
- Week 6- 2 point perspective continued Homework: Finish classwork
