Beth Walker

Welcome!

My name is Beth Walker.  I am excited to share my passion for learning with your child!  My goal is for your child to have a great time in class, while also gaining confidence and learning new skills.

I have always been interested in creating and making new things.  I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design from the University of Cincinnati.  I was also a Graphic Artist for five years at Berry Plastics.  Six years ago, when I became an online ESL teacher, I discovered my love for teaching children.  I am also a 5-star ACE educator with Outschool.  As a stay-at-home mom to two creative and energetic boys with ADHD, I have experience using many techniques to help children stay focused.  I also homeschooled for two years, teaching complete curriculums for second, third, and sixth grades.  Personal growth is important to me, which is why I obtained my TESOL Certificate from the International Open Academy in 2018 and attend webinars to improve my teaching skills in Reading and ESL.

I believe in promoting student success through a patient and encouraging environment.  I adapt my teaching techniques to best fit each student's needs, abilities, and interests.  Learning should be enjoyable, and I strive to make my classroom a fun and inclusive space.

In my spare time, I enjoy hobbies such as puzzles, trivia games, reading, anything related to Harry Potter, and playing board games.  My sons have also introduced me to playing Minecraft and Roblox.
