Accelerate Reading Tutoring

Hi, I'm Teresa, the owner and founder of Accelerate Reading Tutoring. With 18 years of experience in public schools as a reading specialist, special educator, and classroom teacher, I launched this company to focus on the aspect of my career that brings me the greatest joy: helping struggling succeed in literacy.

Over the past decade, I have dedicated my work almost entirely to students with reading difficulties, including those diagnosed with dyslexia. While using traditional programs to target dyslexia, I became discouraged with their slow pace and complex rules that overwhelmed many students.  This led me to explore alternative solutions, and I discovered the structured linguistic phonics, or “speech to print,” approach. After training in the Reading Simplified program and earning certification in EBLI (Evidence Based Literacy Instruction), I found these methods to be the most effective. Now I use ELBI exclusively with my students.   Unlike traditional approaches, which often take years to produce significant results, EBLI empowers many learners to reach their potential in a matter of months.
