Description
Geometry Class Information
See our full course description and additional information such as required supplies on our website.
This course is designed to analyze and apply geometric concepts and measurements, emphasizing the properties of geometric figures and their real-world applications. Students will learn to use proofs to justify their answers, introducing them to a new approach to mathematics. Developing the thinking and reasoning skills necessary for proof-based mathematics is crucial, as these skills will be essential in Algebra II and beyond.
All Excelsior math instructors will use the Big Ideas Math curriculum by Ron Larson, Ph.D., and Laurie Boswell, Ed.D., which is designed to equip students for higher-level and college mathematics. Students will have access to a digital platform with various tools to enhance their learning experience, including instant feedback on homework. Please note that the materials used in Excelsior math classes are not aligned with Common Core standards.
Parents and students can expect weekly homework assignments, chapter quizzes, tests, a midterm, and a final exam.
Teacher: Mrs. Bethany Baum
