There are two sections of this class available:
This is a traditional high school course for biology worthy of a full credit and includes labs! The fall semester will focus on microbiology, covering essential topics such as the characteristics of life, biomolecules, cellular structure, photosynthesis, cellular respiration, DNA, protein synthesis, and cell reproduction. In the spring semester, the emphasis will shift to macrobiology, exploring evolution, the classification of organisms, and a comprehensive study of the kingdoms of life, including bacteria, protista, fungi, plants, and animals.
Throughout the year, students will engage in a variety of labs to deepen their understanding of these topics. This will include both virtual online labs and hands-on experiments conducted at home. Students will also learn how to write lab reports, submitting several of these reports throughout the year to enhance their scientific communication skills.
