There are two sections of this class available:

In Language Arts Bridge, students will enhance their skills in grammar, writing, and reading to become more effective communicators. They will develop a strong understanding of English grammar and mechanics, learning to manipulate various parts of speech, clauses, and sentence types to communicate effectively in their writing.

Throughout the course, students will create several short pieces, each tailored to a specific purpose and style, while learning to structure their work and support their claims with transitions and details. We will emphasize editing skills by applying grammar principles to their own writing, aiming for students to produce engaging, purposeful work characterized by strong sentences, stylistic choices, and accurate grammar.

Additionally, students will read and analyze literature both independently and in class, practicing comprehension, critical thinking, and literary analysis techniques. This course will provide numerous opportunities for students to enjoy language arts and to think deeply about how we read, write, and communicate.
