Description

Learners feel more confident in their math skills when they have a strong handle on times tables.

Learners will join a weekly 30 minute lesson, to log in and play a fun online game. The game can be played independently, against classmates and even against other students around the world (completely anonymously).

Learners are motivated by earning virtual currency, to improve their own speed and accuracy, and by the friendly competition. The online game automatically adapts to each learners unique learning needs, helping them recall their times tables at record speed!Learners have access to the game all week, and they can really improve with a little-and-often approach.

Even 3-5 minutes a day can have a great impact on their ability to recall their times tables.

We will have a weekly 30 minute lesson, where we consider different tricks for recalling our times tables, before logging in and playing with each other on the game - a little friendly competition!

Neurodivergency Specializations and Accommodations

I focus on building confidence and foundational skills in a nurturing and empowering environment. I help teens master core concepts, overcome academic challenges, and develop a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.

At the heart of my teaching philosophy lies a belief that learning should be an adventure, sprinkled with curiosity. We can be serious about learning without it always being too serious.

I am a teacher who welcomes all students exactly as they are. I have a lot of experience with neurodivergent children and am a neurodivergent adult myself. Cameras can be turned off if preferred (after a quick hello with the camera on).

When appropriate, I create 'low-demand' classroom experiences, which can work especially well with learners experiencing anxiety or those with PDA. I encourage and welcome participation, but am very quick to adapt to learners who are unable or unwilling to partake in an obvious and active manner. This can mean only using the chat, or even only listening.
