This practical course highlights the real-world applications of math in both business and personal finance. It begins with a review of fundamental computational skills and equations, then progresses to topics such as checking accounts, invoices, cash and trade discounts, payroll, simple and compound interest, annuities, consumer credit, mortgages, budgeting, purchasing, borrowing, investing, and retirement planning. Students will solve realistic business math and personal finance problems while gaining foundational skills in Excel spreadsheets. The textbook features business profiles that connect problems to real-life scenarios and provides practical money tips for both personal and professional contexts.
