Description
"Statecraft 2030" pairs readings in political science, current events, negotiation, moral philosophy, literature, and economics with a student-driven world affairs simulation: as officials of imaginary countries, students will test their skills -- critical thinking, problem solving, negotiation, even math -- to run the world they will inherit.
The core of this class is a world affairs simulation that begins the very first week. Because the initial parameters of the simulation are determined by chance, the simulation is different every time. (Many students take this class more than once.) The ability to work cooperatively is a must.
Note: this is a 90-minute class and may run long when negotiations run long.
Optional end-of-semester honors project for those who want to extend their learning.
Neurodivergency Specializations and Accommodations
Class designed with gifted learners in mind: fast pace, complex materials, high input, relatively low output. For students who want to dig deep, not just check a box.
