Description
Explore the wonder and mathematical beauty of snowflakes with Wilson Snowflake Bentley, the Snowflake Man. On January 15, 1885, during one cold snowy Vermont day, Wilson Bentley photographed his first snowflake using an old time bellows camera connected to a microscope. Thereafter, Wilson perfected his photography technique and went on to create 5,000 beautiful black and white photographs of real snow crystals.
NatureGlo's course will take youth on a snow crystal adventure unlike anything experienced before in a winter unit study. This wintertime snowflake unit study takes youth on a historical, scientific, mathematical and artistic journey exploring nature's most beautiful and captivating snow crystal geometries, such as hexagonal plates, stellar plates and columnar crystals. Children create beautiful snowflake art projects to remember this unit by for years to come.
