There are two sections of this class available:

In this year-long course, students will explore both physical geography (including climate, topography, and map reading) and cultural geography (examining how people live around the world). Given the interdisciplinary nature of geography, students will enjoy making connections to fields such as science, history, religion, politics, and economics.

Each week, students will complete assignments based on readings from the textbook and the student activities manual. Through assigned map exercises, they will identify and label all the countries, capitals, and significant bodies of water by the end of the year. Projects, short writing assignments, and class discussions will provide opportunities for students to share their insights on the diverse places and cultures studied.

Students will also explore world religions, with a focus on the role of Christianity globally. As advancements in technology and transportation make our world feel smaller, understanding geography will better prepare students for the realities of life in the 21st century.
