Dr. Yoonhee Lee, who earned her Ph.D. in Education from Arizona State University, is renowned for her research in game-based literacy learning. She teaches pre-service educators at ASU's Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College and founded Playful Digital Learning (PDL). Dr. Lee's extensive teaching experience in diverse K-12 and adult settings in Korea and the US drives her advocacy for integrating technology to enhance active learning and engagement.
At PDL, Dr. Lee merges digital gaming with education, demonstrating the powerful combination of play and learning. Playful Digital Learning offers an educational environment that ignites learners' passion for digital gaming and learning in a collaborative, creative, and tech-infused classroom. Recognizing the necessity of technological literacy in the 21st century, PDL's innovative programs provide students with this essential skill set. Through online, after-school, homeschooling, and seasonal camp programs, PDL harnesses the excitement and educational potential of digital games to engage learners in subjects such as history, writing, and STEM.
In this one time Minecraft class, each time teachers give students an opportunity to learn a new redstone circuit or contraption and apply them in Minecraft. This class is not designed for players that are new to Minecraft.
Playful Digital LearningStudents will record focused gameplay using Streamlabs, then edit their video and audio in DaVinci Resolve. They'll learn to cut clips, add effects, and experience the entire video editing process. Students will showcase their finished.
