Currently, the section available for the summer meets four consecutive days at 12:30 PM EASTERN:

"The Last Leaf" and "The Gift of the Magi":
Session 1: July 29, 30, 31, Aug 1

This course runs for four days in a row. 

Learners will use the method from the Institute for Excellence in Writing® to compose a formal essay about O. Henry in four lessons. The first two days we will discuss the short stories and outline the story sequence together. Learners will be expected to write rough drafts from their outlines for homework. 

We will outline the conclusion and introduction paragraphs about O. Henry during our third meeting. Again, learners will need to complete rough drafts before the next live meeting. 

To complete this course, learners will explore different stylistic techniques chosen by me to add to their paragraphs to make them more interesting. 

Final copies will need to be polished and typed in Google Docs before turning in to me within a week of the last class.
