This class is part one of three classes covering this curriculum.

Curriculum: IEW's People and Places in the Community is a K-2, early-elementary reading level, theme-based writing book which covers units one through five and seven of the IEW writing method. This class will cover units one and two.

Scope and Sequence: Each class will focus on one lesson in the People and Places book.  This first class in the series will cover lessons one through nine.

Class Structure: Class begins with a greeting activity, followed by the main writing lesson. The class will end with a review or vocabulary exercise. 

Assignments: Weekly homework will be given according to the People and Places suggested assignments. All assignments that are submitted to be according to the instructions will receive editing and brief written feedback.  The feedback on the assignments will be based on the checklists in the book.
