Description
Come think like an artist!
WHAT IS THIS CLASS ABOUT?
In short: growth mindset! Process art focuses on allowing kids to fully explore the ins and outs of different art materials, in an open-ended way. I happily facilitate this open-ended exploration, demonstrating techniques and allowing kids to fully express themselves.
We'll be covering many different art materials throughout the year:
- Sept/Oct: Watercolor
- Nov/Dec: Drawing
- Jan/Feb: Oil Pastel
- Mar/Apr: Paper Arts/Collage
- Apr/May: Simple Scupture/Air-Dry Clay
- June: Cartooning/Bookmaking
This is a MONTHLY ongoing subscription model - the content does build, so it's best if kids can stay on board, but if they miss a week here or there, class recordings will be available!
My goal is for learners to feel comfortable different art materials on their own after our joint art exploration, so they will be happy to take them out of the art cabinet at any time to make whatever they want!
WHAT WILL A CLASS SESSION LOOK LIKE?
In our 45 minutes, it's usually 5-15 minutes of discussion & demonstration, 20-25 minutes of work time, and 5-10 minutes to wrap up and share. I don't make kids share, ever, but strive to create an environment in which they feel comfortable doing so. Often, kids share throughout the class session.
WHAT SUPPLIES DO I NEED?
We'll switch art materials every 4-8 weeks on average. I'll post changes in the classroom as we go. Watercolors, basic drawing materials, oil pastels, paper & glue sticks, air-dry clay as we go!
